At Malone Commercial Brokers, we understand how important it is to share our clients’ stories. Commercial Real Estate, especially in Maine, is intense in its collaborative nature and we work together with our clients to make sure their story is heard.
Natalya Nikitina is the founder of LOOM Clothing and Home, a boutique that’s redefining sustainable fashion in Freeport. Natalya leased 2,772±SF of retail space at 56 Main St. in Freeport. The deal was brokered by Mark Malone of MCB, representing the tenant, as well as Alex Yebba of Yebba Realty Ventures who represented the landlord.
With a deep-rooted passion for ethical and environmentally conscious fashion, Natalya’s journey from Ukraine, to New York City, to Freeport has been nothing short of inspiring.
Natalya, originally from Ukraine, grew up in New York City surrounded by creativity and design, with her mother as a design director and her father as an architect. Her career path lead her to prestigious roles at Ralph Lauren and Macy’s in NYC. After years in the fast-paced fashion industry, Natalya sought a change, one that would bring her family to Freeport, Maine, and eventually, to the creation of LOOM Clothing and Home.
A carefully curated collection of timeless, high-quality clothing and accessories, at LOOM, each piece is sourced from designers who prioritize low carbon footprints and ethical production practices. Natalya’s approach is centered on the idea of mindful consumerism, encouraging customers to invest in fewer, but better, pieces that will last.
In her own words, Natalya describes LOOM as a place where customers can “trust us to build their wardrobe with quality pieces that last.” The store, with its airy, minimalist design, reflects this philosophy, offering a relaxed and personal shopping experience. Natalya transformed the space at 56 Main St. into a light-filled, welcoming environment that perfectly complements the store’s mission.
LOOM Clothing and Home has quickly become a go-to destination for those in search of sustainable fashion. The boutique’s Instagram following spans across Maine and beyond, and its community-focused events, such as vintage pop-ups and jewelry workshops, are further testament to Natalya’s commitment to supporting local designers and creating an interconnected community.
As Freeport continues to grow and attract more small businesses, LOOM stands out as a showcase of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. We’re proud to have played a part in Natalya’s journey and look forward to seeing LOOM thrive in Freeport’s retail landscape.
